One Vanderbilt

EDC’s Frame Shoring Helps One Vanderbilt Link to Grand Central Station

Project Overview

Requiring more than 70,000 cubic yards of concrete, One Vanderbilt is a professional office building in Midtown Manhattan and one of the tallest towers in New York City.

When completed, One Vanderbilt reaches 1,401 feet tall with its spire and 1,301 feet without the spire.

Along with the 53W53 residential building, One Vanderbilt’s height places it in the “super tall” skyscraper category, a designation shared by only a select group of New York City towers.

The building’s scale, location, and connection to the Grand Central Station area made the project a major construction effort requiring dependable shoring support and precise coordination.

EDC's Role

EDC was selected as the frame shoring supplier for this high-rise building, providing equipment to support the project’s large concrete construction program.

Work began in the summer of 2017, with the building scheduled to top out in mid-2019 and reach completion by the end of 2020.

EDC’s frame shoring solutions helped support the construction team through demanding high-rise conditions, active site coordination, and the project’s large concrete placement requirements.
